The City of Perth is pleased announce the construction works for the Main Street Refresh – William Street Project is about to commence. The project will consist of lighter touch interventions to minimise impact of surround businesses and residents.

The works will occur along William Street between the Esplanade and Wellington Street.

What will the refresh include?

• Painting to refresh existing infrastructure such as Light Poles
• Consolidation and decluttering of redundant signage
• Installation of the City’s new wayfinding suite
• Sustainable upgrades to existing tree wells with porous paving
• New tree plantings with upgraded tree guards and grills
• Removal of old street furniture and replacement with the City’s new suite
• Installation of a number of new murals to buildings along the street front
• Installation of light projections onto the ground plane to create activation and interest, refer to the Feature Light Projection Photomontage.

How will these works impact you?

Works shall be staged to minimise disruption between March 2024 – June 2024. Where possible works will be undertaken at night. Pedestrian and traffic management will be in place during the works, with no disruption to traffic taking place during the day. Some temporary lane closures during night works are anticipated and further details will be provided directly to affected businesses and residents.
